Troubleshooting
What the messages you might see mean, and what to do about them.
Most problems are solved by going back to your course and opening the deck again. If that doesn't help, find your message below.
Messages you might see
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| This link has expired | The page is from an earlier visit. Open the deck again from your course or website. |
| This link isn't set up yet | Your instructor hasn't chosen a deck for this link. Let them know. |
| This LMS connection isn't set up correctly | Something in your school's setup needs fixing. Tell your instructor, who can pass it to your LMS administrator. |
| This launch couldn't be completed | Go back to your course and open the deck again. |
| Progress isn't being saved (and an amber dot on Settings) | The page has stopped saving. Open the deck again from your course; marks you made are sent then. |
| Bookmarks can't be saved | Same as above: reopen the deck from your course or website. |
| Log in to study this deck. | The website wants you to log in first. |
| This deck is only available in your course | Your instructor set this deck to open only from your course. Open it there. |
| No bookmarked cards yet | Show Bookmarked Cards is on in Settings. Turn it off to see the whole deck. |
| Nothing to review right now | You're up to date. It says when your next review is. |
If your LMS shows an error saying access has expired, your school's Flash Reference subscription may have lapsed. Tell your instructor.
Something's missing
- No Still learning or Know it buttons. Your instructor hasn't turned on marking for this deck. You can still flip through it.
- No Multiple choice in Settings. Your instructor hasn't turned it on, or the deck doesn't have enough different short answers to make questions from.
- No to review button. Your instructor hasn't turned on spaced repetition, nothing is due yet, or you're on a phone, where Review is in Settings under Study mode.
- No speaker button. Your browser can't read text aloud. Try another browser.
- The keys B, 1 and 2 don't work. Turn on Single-key shortcuts in Settings.
Still stuck?
Ask your instructor. They can contact Flash Reference support for you.
